Five Characteristics of an Effective 21st-century Educator

It might seem impossible at the moment, but I encourage you to regularly read articles, books, websites concerning effective teaching, current brain based research, content area academic content, and any material that piques your interest!
Lifelong learning is one of the five characteristics of effective 21-st century educators. I recently read a brief article outlining what  skills we need to hone to be at the top of our  profession and meet the challenges of educating our digitally savvy students. An effective 21st century educator:

1. Anticipates the future.
2. Is a lifelong learner.
3. Fosters peer relationships.
4. Can teach and assess all levels of learners.
5. Is able to discern effective vs. non-effective technology.

Almost Friday!

New Teachers, you are about to complete your first week of  providing high quality academic instruction for our wonderful students at BHCA and NBH. I hope you have all had an excellent first week! The students are the best, the parents are fully involved, and your coworkers are completely dedicated professionals. We are all so lucky to be a part of this educational endeavor!

If you have any questions, need assistance, are still trying to get your feet on the ground, please ask for help. We are here to serve you!

Here's an end of the week pointer: do something fun, relaxing or invigorating this weekend. Unwind and take care of yourself, enjoy friends and family and recharge your batteries! Your second week will be that much more successful if you take care of you!
